Use your creative skills
to make a difference

Have you ever wanted to get active for animals, but weren’t sure how? If you’re a creative professional, we’d love to connect.

There’s a growing demand for high quality creative work to support projects that help animals, and the movement needs your skills! There are several ways to get involved, depending on your experience level and availability:

Apply for our Volunteer Mentorship Program

The movement needs more creative minds! We believe that investing time in helping new creative professionals join the movement is necessary to support the many new animal advocacy organizations and activists as they grow.

JOIN OUR MANATEE POD

During this 3-month collaboration, our team will work with you — our manatees (mentees, but make it cute 🦭) — to sharpen your skills, deepen your understanding of the creative landscape within the movement, and build valuable connections.

I’m a passionate animal advocate who wants to enhance their creative skills

You're a passionate vegan who might already be familiar with the animal advocacy space. You have a good understanding of design basics, but need help honing your skills so you can put them to work for animals!

Two types of manatees we're looking for:

I’m an experienced creative professional who wants to plug into the movement

You're a seasoned creative professional, but recently vegan, new to the animal advocacy space, or returning after a hiatus. You want to join forces with us, getting connected to current opportunities that use your skills for good!

Sound like you? We'd love to hear from you. We'll chat with you about your unique goals, with the intention of setting you up for success in providing pro-bono support to animal advocates.

Program Requirements:

  • Willing to commit 5–10+ hours of design per week for the duration of the program. This could be spread throughout the week, or you can devote a single solid day per week to contributing — whatever fits into your schedule.

  • Strong communication and responsiveness to messages, as we are a fully remote team (please don’t ghost us! 👻)

  • Excited to collaborate with other team members.

  • Able to share a portfolio of current work.

  • Passionate about using your skills to help animals!

Because we invest deeply in each manatee and spots are limited, we ask that applicants be ready to commit fully to the program. Before applying, please make sure you can realistically commit the time — we want this to be a rewarding experience for you too.

We anticipate receiving a lot of applications – if you don’t get in, it’s not a reflection of your value. Please know that we have limited bandwidth and everything we do is free! Keep applying in the future. 🙂

Next mentorship opportunity:

April–June 2026

Applications close on March 20th

Apply to join the core Violet team

If you’re a design professional who’s excited to apply their skills to help animals, apply to join us and collaborate on impactful creative projects in the movement.

We’re especially interested in joining forces with brand and web designers since those are our most needed and requested services. We’re always looking for folks with a fresh perspective that’s different from our own.

Join our Vegan Creative Network

Ultimately, there will always be more design work than the official Violet team can take on. If you’re not able to join the Violet team for any reason, you’re still welcome to join our referral list! We send this list to organizations and activists that we can’t help – whether it’s because their requests are outside of our scope, or we’re over capacity. Request to join the list, and get connected with organizations and activists looking for you.
